Cars & Motorsport
I have a strong interest in cars, motorsport, and general tuning.
15+ years building things that move, think, and compute. From industrial control systems and vision-guided robotics to cars and homelab clusters.
Software Engineer at Dynamic Engineering, working with development, system architecture, and integration in industrial environments.
I've spent over 15 years building systems that bridge the gap between digital logic and the physical world. Starting as an automation apprentice and service engineer, I worked my way through PLC programming, network engineering, and software development, eventually taking on leadership of software development strategy at Dynamic Engineering.
My experience spans C++, C#, Python, and Java, along with PLC/SCADA integration, network design, and deployment on both Linux and Windows platforms. I work with AI and data analysis to support monitoring, automation, and operational improvements, including solutions for fish farming and broader industrial automation with an emphasis on OEE.
Currently pursuing a Master's in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Agder part-time while leading our development team. Outside work, I'm wrenching on engines, racing, or expanding my homelab.
15+ years from the shop floor to digital leadership.
Leading overall software development strategy and system architecture. Building maintainable software systems for industrial environments: fish farming automation, OEE solutions, and AI agent integration. Managing a development team and setting direction for digital platforms.
Designed network architectures with emphasis on routing, firewalls, and VPN access for industrial systems. Wrote technical specifications and documentation for client-facing network solutions.
Full-cycle development across platforms, including .NET applications, C++ backend services, Docker/Kubernetes deployments, and Azure DevOps pipelines. Led smaller projects and worked directly with clients from requirements to delivery.
Delivered virtualization clusters, backup solutions, firewall configuration, subsea network design, and custom software development. Built a Remote Gateway VPN product. High-availability server deployments and secure network hardening.
CCTV system software development, feature implementation, testing and deployment, memory profiling. Created .NET standard libraries, integrated new hardware, built Angular frontends, set up Azure Pipelines, hardware prototyping, and Docker environments.
Network design and configuration for new deliveries, including Cisco switching, Palo Alto firewalls, standardization, and documentation. Built a Cisco diagnostic tool (SNMP-based) for service technicians. Set up Proxmox, Nutanix, and ESXi virtualization. Deployed monitoring with Prometheus, ELK Stack, Grafana, and Docker.
Developed Siemens TIA Portal standard libraries (WITS, SIWAREX). Responsible for the fluid control system on land rigs, covering sensor monitoring, valve/motor control, and system integration. Prototyped vision systems for robotic arm automation. Developed new sensor line for rigs under construction. Beckhoff embedded series work with signal management and DDS protocol.
Control systems support for customers and site personnel. Remote troubleshooting on active rigs, programming and bug fixes in existing code, CCTV system setup, lab simulations with WinCC and Wonderware Intouch.
Commissioning of mud and drilling control systems. PLC programming, electrical drawings, computer setup and documentation, loop-testing of electrical circuits, sensor/encoder calibration, valve maintenance, and general troubleshooting.
Hands-on foundation in industrial automation. PLC programming (Mitsubishi), electrical cabinet construction, control systems for road tunnels, motor maintenance, and welding.
Where engineering meets passion.
I have a strong interest in cars, motorsport, and general tuning.
Writing code that talks directly to hardware is something I find satisfying. I like building systems around microcontrollers and PLCs that interact with sensors, actuators, and real-world processes.
I find it fascinating to make cameras useful, applying computer vision to automation and robotics, from object detection to guiding robotic systems. Turning raw image data into real decisions is a great engineering challenge.
Currently working towards a Master's in AI, with a focus on applying machine learning in industrial and embedded contexts. I'm motivated by the potential of combining data-driven approaches with the physical systems and domains I already know well.
I run a homelab with Proxmox, Docker, and a variety of self-hosted services. It's a great way to test out infrastructure ideas and try new tools.
Technologies I work with across the stack.
Notable projects and open-source work.
Program to sort audiobooks from OpenAudible into an organised file/folder structure. A practical utility for managing large audiobook libraries.
View on GitHub →Built a VPN-based remote access product at MK Engineering for secure industrial connectivity, enabling reliable remote support and management of on-site systems.
Created a diagnostic utility for service technicians at SLB. Pulls data over SNMP and presents it in a user-friendly interface, with import/export functionality for field use.
Software for automatic generation of network configurations and documentation. Streamlines deployment pipelines and reduces human error in standardized setups.
Co-inventor on two patents: "Flow Sensor Assembly" and "Mud Return Flow Monitoring". Novel sensor technologies for real-time flow measurement in drilling operations.
